2. Permissions and Their Purpose

To function as a screen-off utility, Blak Screen requires specific Android permissions. Here is why we need them:

Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): This is the core permission of the app. It allows us to overlay the pure black screen on top of other applications (like YouTube or Netflix) while they continue to play audio.
Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE): Used to keep the overlay active and responsive in the background so it doesn't get closed by the system while you are listening to music or videos.
Post Notifications: Required by Android to show a persistent notification while the service is running. This notification provides you with a quick way to stop the service or return to settings.
Run at Startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): If you enable the "Start on Boot" setting, this permission allows the app to restore your floating button shortcut automatically after your phone restarts.

3. Ad-Free Experience

Blak Screen is 100% ad-free. We do not display any advertisements, nor do we share any device identifiers with advertising networks.

4. Third-Party Services

The app does not use any third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. All font assets are bundled locally within the application to ensure offline functionality and privacy.

5. Security

Since we do not collect any data, there is no risk of your personal information being leaked from our servers. We follow standard industry practices to ensure the app itself is secure and lightweight.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
